I like to think of my therapy style as very engaging and authentic. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the conduit for change and that starts with building trust with my clients. When you meet with me you will find someone who is genuinely interested in what is happening in your life as well as someone who will sit with you in your pain, but also someone who will push you towards making the changes that you need to improve your life. I strongly believe that you are doing the best that you can with what you have, and it is my job to help you gain the skills to help you do even better.
I received both my bachelor’s of science in psychology and my master’s degree in social work from Kennesaw State University. I have extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI). I have years of experience working with clients who have suicidal thoughts, clients who have previous suicide attempts, clients who self-harm, and clients whose depression, anxiety and past traumas have kept them from being able to live their best lives. I care about you and I am here for you, and I am here to help you live the life you want to live.
On a more personal note, I was born in Lima, Peru, but have lived in Chicago and Atlanta/Douglasville area for most of my life. I am one of the few Spanish-speaking mental health providers practicing in Douglasville/West GA area and am always happy to hold bilingual counseling sessions. When I’m not in the office with my clients, I enjoy spending my free time with my husband, two boys, and my dog and cat Loopy and Cheeto.
